JOHANNESBURG/VICTORIA FALLS/NAMIBIA — The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 ticket ballot has generated unprecedented demand, with over 120.8 million applications received from fans across 193 countries as of November 1, the International Cricket Council announced. The African continent has contributed more than 14.9 million ticket applications, reflecting the significance of bringing the men's World Cup back to the region for the first time in 24 years.
The 41 fixtures to be hosted across eight venues in South Africa have attracted more than 105 million applications. Matches involving South Africa — 11 fixtures including the pre-seeded Super 7 matches — have received nearly 26 million ticket requests. The tournament's most high-profile fixture, India versus Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium on October 10, has attracted 8,397,294 requests, while the November 21 final at the same venue has received 7,900,944.
In Zimbabwe, the total number of ticket requests has crossed 13.35 million, with the group-stage clash between Zimbabwe and India on October 24 at the new Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls drawing just over 3.3 million. More than two million tickets have been requested for the six fixtures to be held at Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, including nearly 900,000 for the England versus Bangladesh match on October 8.
Fans have until 23:59 CAT on November 21 to register for the ballot and select their preferred matches at tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Those who do not register during the ballot window will not be eligible to access tickets through this ballot once it closes.
ICC General Manager – Events and Cricket Operations Gaurav Saxena said the response had been outstanding, reflecting the global appeal of the tournament. LOC CEO Qondisa Ngwenya said the extraordinary demand was a powerful indication of the excitement surrounding the event and the opportunity it presents for South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia to showcase their people, cultures and hospitality to a global audience.
