Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in both the ODI and T20I formats during the home series against England. The 28-year-old fast bowler Mahli Beardman has been recalled to the national limited-overs setup following impressive performances for Australia A on a recent tour of India. The 21-year-old, who last featured for Australia in a solitary ODI in January 2026, is yet to make his T20 International debut. Selectors also recalled Jack Edwards, Spencer Johnson, and Liam Scott for the ODI squad. Meanwhile, Jake Fraser-McGurk returns to the T20I side after last playing for Australia in July 2025. Lachlan Shaw has earned his maiden call-up to the national side after impressive performances for Australia A and in the Big Bash League. Several senior players have been rested for the T20I series, including Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Josh Inglis, Cooper Connolly, and Cameron Green, with their workload to be managed as they prepare for the New Zealand series and five Test matches in India. Nathan Ellis, recovering from a side strain, has been included in the T20I squad. The series comprises three ODIs and five T20Is, with both teams led by Mitchell Marsh. Selector George Bailey said the matches provide several players with a great chance to demonstrate their ability against strong opposition, with an eye on a demanding Test schedule that will see Australia host New Zealand and tour India before the 150th Anniversary Test against England.
