MUMBAI – Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, has detailed the fallout of his long-standing friendship with Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, citing a lack of support and an unresolved dispute with her mother as the primary factors.
The two were childhood friends who remained close through college and maintained their friendship for approximately a decade, Orry said. He claimed he stood by Khan during a significant legal case she faced, recalling a period when they were in Goa and he never left her side despite others advising him to do so.
However, Orry alleged that when he faced his own difficult phase, Khan did not contact him even once to check on his well-being. "For once in my life, when she had to be there, she disappeared. During such a difficult phase, she did not call even once to check in," Orry said in an interview.
Orry also alleged that Sara’s mother, Amrita Singh, scolded him and spoke about him to others, a factor he said further damaged his relationship with the family. "If I pretend to be friends with her now, that means she is fine with whatever her mother did to me and whatever she said about me to everyone else. I never received an apology. I cannot remain friends with her," he said.
The fallout became public in January 2026 when Orry posted an Instagram Reel referring to "Sara", "Amrita" and "Palak" as the "three worst names." The post was later deleted. Following the post, Sara and Amrita unfollowed Orry on Instagram. Orry claimed he had unfollowed them long before and that they had only done so later.
Orry, who participated in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, also expressed disappointment that close friends did not publicly support him during the physically and mentally demanding experience.
Neither Sara Ali Khan nor Amrita Singh has publicly responded to Orry’s allegations. The actor has largely avoided discussing the dispute, and there has been no public reconciliation between the parties.
