GREENSBURG, Florida — A Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area of Greenacres in Palm Beach County, Florida, on November 1, killing all nine people aboard. The aircraft had departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was en route to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas when the crash occurred.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that nine individuals were aboard the aircraft. The National Transportation Safety Board and local authorities had not released victim identities as of November 2. Recordings captured a female pilot reporting icing conditions and moderate turbulence before the situation rapidly deteriorated and the crew declared an emergency.

Flight tracking data reviewed by Flightradar24 indicated the aircraft descended more than 32,000 feet per minute before impacting the ground near Military Trail. The descent rate accelerated alongside an overspeed condition, with the final communications including a warning: "We're going to crash into the ground."

Alexandra Dudgeon and Nathalia Filgueiras have circulated as possible identities of the female pilot online, but the FAA and NTSB have not officially identified any occupants. Dudgeon reportedly issued a statement denying involvement. Filgueiras, a Florida-based pilot who earned her private pilot's licence in 2023 while in high school, also became the subject of speculation.

The cause of the crash has not yet been established. The FAA and NTSB continue their investigation.

Nine people died when the business jet went down in a residential neighborhood, authorities said. The aircraft, registered N722BD, came to rest in an area near Military Trail north of 10th Avenue North.
