RAM CHARAN, SUKUMAR UNVEIL RC17 POSTER AFTER DELAYED MUHURAT

HYDERABAD — The muhurat ceremony for actor Ram Charan and director Sukumar's much-anticipated film RC17 was held recently, several months after the project was first announced. The occasion saw the release of the film's first poster, which drew immediate attention for its visual resemblance to Lord Krishna, reigniting old industry speculation.

Nearly two years ago, reports emerged that Ram Charan was being considered to play Lord Krishna in a remake of the Gujarati film Lalo. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was mentioned in industry circles as a potential producer, though sources close to the current production maintain that Sukumar is unlikely to take up a remake. The filmmaker has been developing an original subject for Ram Charan for nearly two years, sources said.

Sukumar is reported to have concentrated on RC17 since the release of Pushpa 2, fine-tuning the narrative. The film is expected to go on floors soon, though the makers have yet to announce the female lead or music composer.

The poster's Krishna-like imagery has given fresh life to the earlier rumour. Whether Ram Charan will actually be seen in a Krishna-inspired role or the poster is merely a creative representation remains to be seen. The previous collaboration between Ram Charan and Sukumar, Rangasthalam, was a critical success, and expectations are naturally high for the upcoming project.

RC17 does not yet have a confirmed release date. The production team has said the film will proceed once the female lead and music composer are finalized.
