DEVON CONWAY RULED OUT OF FIRST ODI AGAINST INDIA AFTER TRAINING COLLISION

AUCKLAND — New Zealand batter Devon Conway has been ruled out of the first One Day International against India after sustaining a concussion during a training session at Eden Park.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, when Conway collided with teammate Matt Henry while both players were attempting to take a catch. Both received immediate medical attention on site and underwent head injury assessments.

Conway was subsequently taken to hospital for further examination, which confirmed the concussion diagnosis. Matt Henry remains under consideration for selection, with New Zealand Cricket stating both players will continue to be monitored.

The loss compounds an already injury-hit New Zealand side, which is also without Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra. The five-match ODI series begins Wednesday at Eden Park, with New Zealand looking to avoid an early deficit against the touring Indians.
