Mumbai Kareena Kapoor declared herself the number one female star in Bollywood and Saif Ali Khan delivered a baffling Uranus joke that left his wife bewildered, as the couple appeared on the ninth and final season of Koffee With Karan.
Karan Johar welcomed the pair, noting Kareena looked relieved. When asked why, she replied: "Because, like, now we don't have to keep coming on Koffee with Karan." The host joked: "Thank you for showing your sensitivity to my last season."
The conversation turned playful when Karan asked Kareena who she thought was the number one female star in Bollywood. Without hesitation, Kareena pointed to herself sitting opposite Karan: "The one sitting opposite you." Saif teased his wife: "You are allowed to praise other people."
Kareena seemed amused and responded: "What do you mean?"
The humour continued when Karan asked Saif about the colour of his Uranus. Staying true to his sense of humour, Saif shot back: "After bleach or before." Kareena was left wondering where the conversation was headed and asked: "What is happening on the show?" as Karan laughed out loud.
Beyond the jokes, the episode was a rare joint appearance for the couple. Kareena has appeared on the show several times previously, including with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Season 6 and Alia Bhatt in Season 8. Her appearances with Saif remain relatively rare. The two first appeared together on the show in Season 3 in 2010, back when they were dating. They married in 2012, making their return after 16 years a special one.
Kareena expressed happiness and relief that the show is ending, stating she does not have to come on Koffee With Karan from now on. Saif also admitted he thinks he is slightly miscast on the show.
The couple's episode is part of the show's final season, which marks 22 years since Karan Johar first pitched the idea in 2004. The episode dropped on JioHotstar.
