CHANDLER'S FORD, Hampshire — Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing at a Halloween party in southern England, police said, as investigators appealed for witnesses and footage from the scene.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Park Road shortly after 22:30 GMT on Saturday after reports that an unknown group forced entry to a supervised party via a garden fence and assaulted five teenage boys, all aged 16 or 17. Five boys were found injured at the scene; two remain in hospital, with one 17-year-old in life-threatening condition. The other three have been discharged.

A 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie said the investigation has moved at pace since the incident was first reported and urged anyone who attended the party or has CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage of Park Road and the surrounding area to come forward, quoting reference 44260534624.

Witnesses told local media a fight started after a group came in over a garden fence, though the motive for the stabbings remains unclear. Police cordoned off parts of Park Road and Valley Road. The force said it was interested in speaking to anyone who attended the party to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The incident has sparked concern in the local community, with officers visiting nearby schools and colleges to provide reassurance.
