PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles have informed other teams they are not considering trading star running back Saquon Barkley despite an injury-riddled season that could prompt a seller's mindset in the trade market.

The report, first confirmed by ESPN's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, comes as the Eagles explore trade possibilities involving other players. Barkley, 29, has a little over $35 million remaining on his contract, making him one of the most significant offensive contributors on the roster.

Despite the injury-plagued nature of Philadelphia's season, the Eagles have made clear to teams they are not looking to part with Barkley. The team's stance suggests Philadelphia believes it can rebound sooner rather than later, with better fortune on the health front and an offseason to patch holes potentially bringing the club together quickly.

"The Eagles should arguably still have an ear open in case someone wants to put a Godfather offer on the table, but moving Barkley for anything less than top dollar wouldn't make sense," a source with knowledge of the situation said.

The running back remains a central figure in the Eagles' offensive plans, and the team appears intent on keeping him healthy and integrated into their plans rather than exploring a trade, even as they have had discussions involving other players.
