BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Austin Reed to their practice squad Monday, elevating him as an option at the position following injuries to starting quarterback Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley.
The moves come after Jackson sustained a thumb injury on the first play of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills and Huntley left the same contest with a toe injury. With both primary quarterbacks unavailable, Reed — who spent part of training camp and the preseason with Baltimore — is available for Thursday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Reed, who also had stints with the Chicago Bears in summer 2025 and led the United Football League in passing with the Dallas Renegades, appeared in all three preseason games for the Ravens. He completed 6 of 12 passes for 59 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and added a 14-yard rushing touchdown.
To make room on the roster, the Ravens waived fullback Lucas Scott. Justice Hill has been named emergency quarterback if rookie Joe Fagnano becomes unavailable.
Baltimore enters the short-week matchup against Jacksonville searching for its first win since Jackson's return from a high ankle sprain.
