SEATTLE — The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 13-9 on Monday Night Football at Lumen Field, improving to 5-2 on the season while the Seahawks fell to 4-3. Caleb Williams threw a touchdown pass and ran an efficient offense, while new acquisition Jeffery Simmons made an immediate impact on the defensive line.

Cairo Santos kicked field goals of 44 and 38 yards, and Luther Burden III scored on a 1-yard touchdown reception as the Bears built a 13-3 lead by halftime. Seattle pulled within 13-9 when Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from Sam Darnold with 30 seconds remaining in the first half, but Jason Myers missed the extra point.

Williams completed 17 of 25 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Darnold was 7 of 15 for 94 yards and a touchdown. Simmons, acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a blockbuster trade, recorded five tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss in his Bears debut. The Bears' defense limited Seattle to 114 yards in the first half and just one conversion in six third-down attempts.

Seattle drove into scoring position late in the half, but the Bears' goal-line stand forced a turnover on downs. The Seahawks had only 29 yards of offense across their first four drives. Simmons' presence disrupted the interior, and the Bears' front seven applied consistent pressure without needing to blitz extensively.

The Bears' offense sustained long drives, with the opening possession consuming 8 minutes and 32 seconds over 17 plays covering 80 yards. Seattle's defense, ranked No. 1 in yards permitted, continued its strong play, holding Chicago without a 100-yard rusher. D'Andre Swift managed 26 yards on 11 carries.

Smith-Njigba led Seattle with 92 receiving yards on four catches. Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price made their returns from injury, combining for 20 rushing yards. Michael Dickson punted four times for Seattle.

The Bears improved to 5-2, while the Seahawks dropped to 4-3. The game featured notable trade deadline acquisitions, with Simmons and Nelson each making their debuts for their new teams.
