SAARBRUECKEN, Germany — PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen claimed women's and men's singles titles at the Hylo Open 2026 on Saturday, bringing India double badminton glory at the BWF Super 500 event.
Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist, dominated Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the women's final to secure her first title since winning the Japan Open in July. The victory marked a significant milestone, as Sindhu became the first Indian woman to capture the Hylo Open women's singles crown. She dictated the rallies with precise strokeplay, using her reach and court coverage to keep the Dane under pressure throughout the 39-minute contest.
In the men's final, Lakshya Sen defeated defending champion Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-17, 21-10. The victory gave Sen his second Hylo Open men's singles title and his first BWF title of the year. Sen also became the first Indian player to win two titles at the Hylo Open.
The results cap a remarkable week for Indian badminton, with both top seeds delivering straight-game victories to secure the championship honors in Saarbrucken.
