HAMILTON, New Zealand — New Zealand completed a 3-2 series victory over India with a seven-wicket win in the fifth and final T20 International on Sunday, exposing persistent flaws in the visitors' bowling and fielding at Seddon Park.

Tim Seifert blasted 93 off 50 balls and Glenn Phillips remained unbeaten on 65 off 38 deliveries as New Zealand chased down 192 with 12 balls to spare. The win capped a dream series for Phillips, who finished with 341 runs.

India was restricted to 191-8 despite half-centuries from Ishan Kishan, who top-scored with 61 off 32 balls including five fours and five sixes, and Shreyas Iyer, who made a 22-ball fifty, his fastest in T20Is. Adam Milne took 4-19 for New Zealand.

Ishan Kishan's 61 took his 2026 T20I tally past 1,220 runs, the most by an Indian in a calendar year, and took his career total beyond 2,000 runs. Sanju Samson scored four and dropped a catch off Phillips on 31. India's teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not feature.

New Zealand lost early wickets in the chase but Seifert and Daryl Mitchell added 73 runs before Phillips combined with Seifert in an 86-run stand for the third wicket that effectively ended the contest. India managed only 80 runs in the second half of their innings after reaching 111-2 after 10 overs.
