Victory Venkatesh's Aadarsha Kutumbam and Vishwak Sen's Cult opened to disappointing box office numbers over the weekend, reflecting weak audience turnout and external headwinds. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Aadarsha Kutumbam struggled to generate buzz prior to release, with its songs considered disappointing by audiences. The film opened with poor numbers and failed to witness significant growth on Saturday and Sunday, with word of mouth, while decent, failing to drive the expected footfall. Overseas performance also fell short, as Trivikram's typical strong overseas openings did not materialize.

Vishwak Sen's Cult, in which the actor-star also plays the lead, opened to a lukewarm response, collecting ₹3.18 crore in its first three days. Sen stated the film represents a new genre for Telugu cinema, but audience interest remained low. The film was badly rejected by viewers and is expected to post very poor numbers in its final run.

Adverse weather conditions from Cyclone Arnab further complicated the opening weekend for both films. Coastal Andhra Pradesh experienced heavy rainfall and disruption to normal life, with the state government urging residents to remain indoors. The cyclone resulted in five deaths and property damage across several districts, keeping potential audiences away from theatres at a critical time.

Considering the budgets and financial structures, Aadarsha Kutumbam is heading toward a disaster, with the film needing to recover significant sums from theatrical collections. Cult recovered a major portion of its budget through non-theatrical deals and is being released on an advance basis in theatres. Both films face challenging prospects in the coming weeks, with industry analysts expecting poor final runs absent a significant turnaround in word of mouth.
